Default Recommend a car

Well, I will be getting a car within the next 8 months. I have decided that I want either a manual hatchback import or a 90's caddy. If I get the import, a v6 would be a plus but not necessary. The caddy speaks for itself. And, I really really emphasize the part about the manual tranny, gotta have it. Unfortunately, I might get $4000 at best. So, what would be a good car for me? (1st car, BTW) Sry to be a complete noob. I know and like cars, but i can't decide on one for me.

um, lets see, for 4k, i can see you picking up an mk3 supra (86.5-92) a decent 5 speed turbo can be picked up in that price range, its not a v6 but an inline 6 mated with a turbo and has a hatch. i would say an rx7 of the same years but thats a rotary and you mentioned a v6 so i dont know how you feel about rotary's. look for maybe even a corrado or scirroco (sp?) by VW, both hatches and i believe were available with the vr6 engine.

Can I ask why you want a V6. Is it because you think they have more power? Not always the case. What else are you looking for in a car?

any kind of fast car for $4k is gonna have high miles and will require work to keep it running good. $4k for just a daily driver will get you a descent car with 40k-60k miles and should last you for a few years.

You need a hatchback Civic.

No, really, though. Get a Mustang 5.0. A GOOD Mustang can be picked up for that much.
