I know there's a thread for this, but it's only to post names of shops, not request services. Anyways, the shop where my car is getting painted doesn't have time to wet sand it, so I need someone that can do it this week.

 

um...isnt a wetsand part of the overall procedure of painting a car? they should make time damnit!

They said that wet sanding makes the paintjob look better and have a deeper look but it is not required.

 

Wetsanding is just a process of sanding a painted car with a very high grit 1500-2000 sandpaper. To smoothe the clear coat. Its not involved with painting. You can wet sand a brand new car.

 

yeah,u wetsand a car after the paint is cured..usually 90 days after its painted,if you havent done it before or dont know what your doing id suggest you find someone who does because its a bitch and its very very touchy and im sure u wouldnt wanna have a spot where u sand through the clearcoat or through the clear and paint.

 

well i had my 91 accord painted electron blue pearl, and they wetsanded and buffed it in 30 days (not 90, im wondering whats the difference) and it was included in my paintjob( i also had them shave the door handles and antenna) maybe they just did it to be nice?

 

I thought it was suppossed to be done right after the car was painted, cool now i have more time to find someone to do it.

 

Wetsanding can be done whenever. My brother Bryan (351coupe) is fucking excellent at that kinda stuff. He does it for a living, and he's done plenty of peoples' cars on this board who can vouch for him. He's on vacation right now, but if you want to check out what he'll charge and stuff, drop him a PM and he'll get back to you when he returns, or tell me and I'll call him right then and give him your # or get back to you.
