The LT1 and 3800 both get pretty decent mileage. Look 'em up on fueleconomy.gov.

 

I am confused - You said you wanted a fast car... But now you want High fuel economy?

I think you should sit down and figure out what you want. You only get to pick one. But honestly, a first car is going to be no where near what you want.

Buy yourself an older small pickup (doesn't really matter what brand), leave it stock, and drive it forever. $3000 isn't going to make you handle and be fast, so why set yourself up for disappointment???
