probably a month or two... only b/c the shop was dragging ass and since I am family friends with the guy who was working on my car he was in no rush... was fine, though... always manage to find some other vehicle to drive in the meantime.

95 gst was down for 2 months at the dealer getting tranny rebuilt and a new turbo and engine seals installed

90 accord 2 years waiting on body shop to finish the paint and shaving all my door handles and misc things, then the engine blew and i had no funds, finally gave up on that one

93 si prelude 2 months getting freshened up, now it will be going back in for an h22a swap and 5 lug conversion with a glass sunroof from a 5th gen(ill be doing the lug conversions and sunroof myself)

The Talon has been down since the end of October 2004. Yeah, I suck.

The longest downtime before this was about 2 months. Crankwalk.

My down time with the Buick has been my fault. Something as simple as a header gasket leak (well really, there was nothing simple about it with my old headers) had me park the car for a month because I didn't feel like working on it. Nothing major has gone on it (knocks on wood) and when the motor finally pukes (it's bound to happen some time) I have an 85k mile motor waiting to go so that will just be a matter of me getting around to swapping it, which could take six months to a year depending on motivation........

Six or seven months, I think. In order since I got the car (month and over only) a month waiting for a slave cylinder to get ordered in (brandon mitsu sucks), a month while I did the clutch, three months before I swapped out the blown engine, and the 6 month figure when the shift fork in the tranny broke- that was from spring this year, to fall this year. There have been other long periods where it wasn't running right but I could limp it around, like the entire second year I owned it which is how long it took me to figure out that although the ECU was in perfect shape (I looked at it many times making the rounds of possible causes of the problem) the part number on the label showed it was for a 2.0 NON turbo... that had to be the biggest kick in the teeth I ever had with this car, always misfiring and running like shit in boost because somebody swapped the wrong ecu into it and it took me a year to figure it out. Then there were 3 months with the front left wheel bent out with 20 degrees of positive camber after I crashed it christmas day last year, but it actually drove fine like that- I even took it to the track and ran a 13.3 like that . It's always due to lack of funds to fix the thing. If I had a steady flow of money the car wouldn't be down for more than a few weeks at a time, and it'd be a hot-looking 11 second daily driver instead of a POS 12 second junk-mobile.

Oh, the sad part is that this thing is my daily driver.

2 Days on my last car (altima). That was only because I didn't have a ride to Home Depot for a new wrench and a breaker bar to remove a bolt on my rear suspension.
