I'd rather have a cheap fast dodge than a slow overpriced civic

Nah, I'm saying that in 10-20 years you won't see many econoboxes on the road. For example, how many Pintos and Vegas do you see on the roads these days? Not many. They were the cheap, economy cars of then just like our Civics and Neons are now. They were cool and hip to have, but soon got replaced by the next cool and hip fad.

Is that what an ITR was? I don't keep up on all of these fucking acronymns that people use these days. I'm sure the top of the line Pinto and Vegas are still out cruising the streets too. Oh wait, no they're not.

Civics are like disposable razors. You don't want one, you just count on them to get you by. Buying a Civic brand new is dumb, since you can get an older one for 5-8K that will easily last you another 100K miles on top of what it has. Yes, Hondas have proven reliability, as well, but that fucking SI, even at 20K, is a decent deal, but a bad choice, since Hondas are always better off bought used. For 20-26K you can get a god damned Supra (best car ever, BTW) that will run just as long with Toyota reliability.

Gotta agree with Frankie, though, can't beat an old Chevy. Keeping it simple is the way to go.

I'm not trying to be an advocate of my old Chevy (even though I'm biased) I'm just trying to put a little reality on the economy car buzz. Economy cars are cheap, that's their gimmick. Cheap cars aren't built with a long-lasting, value-holding mindset.

Take an expensive car or a fast car, sure, you'll probably see those on the road in years to come. I'd imagine we'll see the new Caddy DTS or Chrysler 300C still on the road in 20 years and running just fine. You're almost guaranteed to see people still driving F-bodies and Fox bodies in years to come too, but I think that's just a fluke fueled by a cult following. Dodge Viper? Probably going to be held in high regard like the 440 Hemi cars of the muscle car era.

Aside from the occasional white trash or broke ass hippie, when's the last time you saw a 70's Corolla cruising down the road, and if you have, how many panels weren't rusted through?

Just food for thought.

P.S. - My Camaro kicks ass and my Torino is white trash cool!
