please don't post an opinion like it's fact

but as for the thread topic, 26k for anything with a civic emblem is funny

the only way you could make me buy this car is if there was a briefcase with $27k in the trunk

No shit! Plus, I dispute it. A lot of my buddies ride Hondas and they're underneath 'em more than I am under my 40 year old Chevrolet!

You get a lot more out of the si than an extra 37 horses. I am waiting until I can get one out the door for real low $20's but the new is going to be everywhere. I think that honda is going to sell the piss out of these cars. Much better than the 03-04 si in my opinion

And as far as reliability goes, Im sure everyone on here has a story of a super high mileage honda with no problems or very little. I'm at 155,000 on my 99. NO ISSUES YET!

As with any car. My caddy is like 300 miles away from turning 198k.

140k in my crappy domestic. And it will still run a fist full of low 12 second timeslips. I have never even had the valve covers off of it.

there is a huge difference in quality from an srt-4 and the new civic. Besides the seats the neon has nothing that really sets it apart from everything else on the road. Take a look inside an srt-4 and everything from the e-brake handle to the glove box is plain. Now take a look at the inside of the new si. I have never seen a e-brake like that and it has two layers of guages with a digital speedo. If you want to talk power for money the srt-4 wins hands down every time. But this post isnt whats the fastest car for around $20-25,000. And the srt-4 has no handling abilties whatsoever/

Alright guys, time for me to lay it out:

When you get down to it, all $20k cars are econoboxes designed to get you to and from work for a while. They don't have lavish, plush interiors, gobs of power, and won't be seen on the road in 10-20 years from now. It's just a simple fact of life in that you get what you pay for. You wanna talk balls about nice interiors, get a Cadillac, Lincoln, Chysler, Lexus, Inifiti, etc... Want power? There are cars out there too for that. If you're looking to cheap out, get good gas mileage, a decent warranty, and some expected reliability, Civic down all you want, but please, stop acting like the Civic is the all-encompassing, perfect vehicle, 'cause it ain't. It's a nice car for the money, nothing more.
