Question Window tinting...

Okay, I've done a search on here, but haven't gotten any definitive results, so I'm going to ask this at risk of being flamed: What are the ratings of tinting and which are the legal limits for the certain windows? In particular, can you tint your windshield? Thanks for the help.

EDIT: This is in the sticky at the top too. I just thought I might get more response here.

I have limo on my truck. It is dark green so the tint does not stick out as much as if were on say... a white car.

i believe it is state law that you cannot tint your front windsheild past a certian point indicated on the windsheild itself.

It's gonna be black/grey tint on a dark blue (midnight) truck. Shouldn't stick out too much.

That's just enough to block glare right? or is the lower the number the darker?

How do you see through double limo? That's a little too dark. Again is 20 darker than 5? or vice-versa?

Just enough to block glare? Dude, it's enough to block a super nova. Have you seen the tint on my Caddy? Check my TR Garage.

Looking at this picture, I cannot see through the side windows, but can easily see the sun visors and dice through the front windshield. I can also see the brown "sunstrip."

If that's 5 what are the sides?
How do the numbers work?
The larger the number the darker the tint? or the smaller?

no the smaller the number the darker the tint. 30% is legal, everything else is illegal.

So, if Frankie's windshield has 5%, and you say the smaller the darker, what the hell are the side windows? -20%? What number is "limo" tint?
