removing surface rust off of tools?

ive gotten the rust off of a exhaust manifold from a 91 civic that was sitting in Kophers in the rain without a hood for probably a few years...

Easy.
All you do is get some CLR, pour some into a jar, cup, whatever is big enough for the tool then you put the tool in. Hell, you can fit how many ever tools you want that can actually fit. Come back in a few hours, pull it out, rinse it off, good as new. And you can re-use the CLR as many times as you want.

My buddy took his whole 250 piece set and traded them all back in at once. He said it took like an hour 'cause the guy was clueless and they replace each part individually instead of just giving you another set
The acid that was mentioned before is muratic acid, which is a form of hydrochloric acid. I have no idea how well it would work on tools, but you should have some around for making acid bombs anyway, boom!
