The Mustang can be made faster for less.

BTW-I'd favor the mustang..I envy a few 240sx's,but they don't come cheap.
I know everyone has seen John's 240,that thing...is just wow.

just bc its a V8, doesnt make it faster guys. stock 85 GT's made a whopping 185hp! and are considerably heavier than a 240sx. most foxbodies bone stock ran mid to low 15's and so did 240's. i ran a 15.4 bone stock and let marksaccord drive my car and he ran a 15.2 in it destroying my tranny.
one good point is that the 5.0 block can handle over 550hp without ripping out the webbings and SR blocks have sustained well over 1000hp.
there are quite a few 240's in the 10's with most of them running low elevens.... and htose in the elevens usually arent even making over 400hp! but its more expensive to do that in a 240.
i have alwasy loved the foxbody coupe and i used to have an 85 GT with a built 306. i have also owned about 8 240's. both are fun in their own arenas.
but you cant deny the sexiness of both cars.
i miss my car...

I'd go with the Mustang, I own a 5.0 hatch and its decently quick for what it is, nothing really big on it but its an ok car.
Its gonna end up being your choice. Mustangs are great straight line performers, 240s are great drift/autox/blah cars and you can turbo the KA or go SR if you want.
Personally I wouldn't mind a 240 with a SR swap and the silvia front end conversion. I really like the coupes too.
Straight Line Performer = Mustang
Whatever Performer = 240
