Doubt they built this one with knock sensors. and a high strung race car - which this essentially is - collectible - $1m sitting in the garage for a period of time... gas gets old or bad tankful from your local BP and ping bang (like you could hear it over the headers) ... not pretty.
But yes, to your question - most cars since the early 90's have knock sensors - when they sense knock they retard the timing (and performance) to save your engine.
