The last Skylines that were 'legalized' were completed over a year ago. There are several more that are in 'Limbo' (and have been that way for a year plus), awaiting lawsuits and NHSTA decisions. Not a pretty picture, as most of those cars in limbo have already been paid for by owners who have not recieved them yet.

thats kool, so it hasnt been that long since this was passed. Does this apply to any other popular JDM cars ...silvia, rx-7 ...etc?

rep points for this thread. good info. sux though. i would love to pick up an r32. my thought was to buy an r32 and another 240sx thats been totaled and swap the VIN #'s. i know pretty stupid but cops probably couldn't tell the difference. i would get caught just by word of mouth cops would overhear.

What would be the chances of getting the car legalized as a kit car?
Some Fiero owners in California get their cars registered as kit cars. In order to get it done they have to show that a % of their car is no longer factory (aftermarket suspension, engine, body, and interior modifications).
