TR - Engine swap question - V.3000GT
TR, My brother is considering buying this 3000GT..Its like a 92 non turbo with only 82K on the odometer..Problem is, It doesnt run. The person who owned it fucked it up somehow to where the timing belt came off..the water pump blew up and the " heads " are screwed. Thats what the guy said. But it is only 1000. And the body is in great shape along with the interior. So, My brother wanted to get it and swap in another non turbo engine. He was looking on ebay and I know the dangers of that, But..Ive never looked into swapping 3000gt engines..I mostly just stay around the SR/240 camp. So before any of this happens, I need to know what exactly EVERYTHING we will need in order to swap in the engine..as in what parts need to come with the engine so he doesnt get screwed over and end up spending more than the car is worth. Me and my friend can do the swap..I just need to know everything that should come with the engine in order to make it a complete swap like I said. Keep in mind everything on the original engine is in working order just those parts that are messed up do not work. Thanks for any help.
Mitsubishi Tech, I think even DSMTuners has a 3000GT section

it's pretty easy, just do a regular engine swap, but when you put it back together, make sure you do the timing belt, waterpump, tensioner, tensioner pulley, idler pulley, and new accessory belts, I cannot think of anything else right now, check the clutch and see if it's ok..........I think that's it, if you wanna learn about these cars, check out 3SI.org, or florida3s.com
