Question Corolla XRS

I was wondering what was everyones thoughts on the Corolla XRS. I've been looking at them on different sites and on Toyotas site and its a good priced car for a decent new daily driver. Here's the specs on it

1.8L DOHC 16-valve VVTL-i
4-cylinder
164HP @7600RPM
125lb-ft @4400RPM
6 speed manual transmission

MSRP - $17,780, I would have to have the sunroof too so that would be extra plus what other costs there were.

Here's some pictures

What are everyone thoughts on the car? I think its decently priced and it would serve me real good as a daily driver but I wanted to hear everyones opinions on price and everything.

Its basically a fully loaded Corolla with a Celica engine, and transmission (I think). Pretty nice deal if you ask me.

I've got 6 gears y0! It'd be like the fast and furious.

Eh, I'm going to have to drive from Dade City to Tampa every day almost so I don't want to rack up high miles on a SRT-4 since its turbo and it will be a daily driver, there will be a few mods done to the car like

lowering springs and some nicer rims
tints
maybe some speakers
and clear out that nasty orange turn signal and tint the tails to match the headlights.

Dunno, can some SRT-4 owners chime in on if a turbo neon would make a good daily driver for distance? Dunno, the temptation to race in a skittle is too strong if I'd get one, I'm notorious for racing ANYTHING I drive, whether it be busted ass eclipse, or blinging FoRunna on 20s.

Oh yeah, I'd need a cool BOV if I got a SRT-4 too but then there would be some stages going on then.

Not a lot of low-end torque on that thing. I always prefer a car I can laze around at low rpm in for a daily. Other than that it seems like a pretty good daily, more so if you can get it for less than that 17k figure, which I'd have to figure you should be able to.

Every Honda owner knows this

If what you are looking for is a daily driver that will last along time and be cheap to own then its a great choise. I used to sell Toyotas and I cant tell you how many 200+k mile corollas i have seen come in on trade running great. The scion TC would be another excelent economical choice.
