Well Honda bought the Variable Valve Timing from Nissan, so why cant Nissan borrow their hybrid motor. Nissan is going to tweak it up like honda did with their vtech. Its payback time, bit*h!!!

ha.. I like your style. I think Nissan was incorperating variable lift on the intake cam back in the day, Honda just built on the concept by incorperating variable timing for the exhaust lobe's and used it sucessfully in F1. Then they marketed it in their passanger cars leading to their VTEC fame. Anyone else care to chime in? Im not fully sure about all that.

okaaaay....

1) Hybrids are bullshit. They are put out to get the tree-huggers to think "hey! look! better MPGs!" What about the new battery or whatever it needs every 3 years? What about the increased cost in owning one over a regular counterpart?

2) The Insight was the first mass produced hybrid IIRC, then the Prius, Civic, Accord...that would make the Altima the 7th+ not the third...

3) Each and every hybrid on the road today except for the Hondas are all Toyota. Toyota developed the technology, everyone else was like "eh, why bother engineering it when we can just buy it ourselves" giving quite a monopoly to Toyota even more so. Think of how much more profit Toyota would make over their already bling-blingin' profits over the "Big Three".

GM and Chrysler dont think its worth it. I dont either. People will buy it, but I wouldnt trust it myself. Of all the potential "alternate fuel ideas" out there--hydrogen, diesel/biodiesel, hybrid, full electric--hybrid is the worst. They would hardly be a long term investment at all.

Bitching about gas prices? I've said it in many threads already but will continue to do so until people catch hold of what is going on...BIODIESEL...NO OUTSOURCING which is quite a huge advantage for us...foreign oil this foreign oil that, U.S. is losing too much $$ from outsourcing alone rather than keeping it in the U.S. 'Biodiesel farms' could give more people jobs here in the U.S. and would be FAR cheaper

As far as cars with makeovers, IIRC 7 years is the goal; if the same car gets made for 7 years without any major revisions, chances are it is a success.

That being said, there should be far more articles posted as threads here I think. Makes the place more livlier and sparks debate

The best engine in the world is the vagina, it takes any size piston, its self lubricating, starts with 1 finger, and every 4 weeks does its own oil change. It's just a pity the management system is so fucking temperamental.
