Gloves: wear em or not?

They are great for working around a hot engine, they give you more grip and protect you from cuts. That being said I have never used them.

All day using pneumatic tools, some mechanix gloves are needed to keep my knuckles from vibrating off. But other than that, I dont use them.

only when its cold out, even then they only last a month or two.

I have the mechanix gloves and also the latex ones. The mechanics ones work good around the hot headers. I work on a computer all day and at least try to keep my nails clean when I have to work on my car. Plus it helps limit the number of scars from slipping gasket scrapers, and cuts from hose clamps

If you like latex type glove get the ones that say "Nitrile" gloves, they are not laytex and hold up great with chemicals.
