well figuring the engine is in the front and nothing but a hatch in the back i was being serious. engine weighs down so itll have better traction instead of it being rwd where it would have no traction at all.

 

the engine is nothing compared to other motors such as a v8 and what not....on top of that u have a shell that weights little to nothing..its not worth losing ur interior for weight purpose's when ur already light as fuck

 

weight transfer > weight distribution

you could throw a bbc in your car and the weight will still shift to the rear, it's just physics

You didn't even pull the sound deadener on the floor and firewall! That's at least 30 pounds of dead weight left in the car. If you didn't pull the padding off the bottom of the carpet that's 10 pounds or so, bare carpet is only about 5 pounds on a car that size and I'd leave it in but the padding is heavy. The bumper supports only matter in low-speed crashes, anything else is going to crumple past them. Bumper supports aren't a safety issue, they're there to prevent low speed damage to the car. I'm pretty sure if you turned me loose on a stock crx weighing 1800 pounds and gave me 1000 dollars to work with I'd have it down below 1500 pounds without breaking a sweat. Probably take off around 200 pounds for free.

 

all that sound deader just looked like alot of work and yes , carpet had no padding. the hatch was also lightened aka grinder > the hatch. Majority of the undercoating was taken off to wtih a grinder. BUt anyways that was when i was young and stupid .
