Marko holds the #4 position on the list of top 100 1/4 mile times.
It's sort of like the guys that say an oil change is 5 minutes. Of course they never include the time lifting the car, lowering the car and cleanup.
But hey, if tweaking 1,000hp every weekend doesn't bother them then fine, go ahead and call it a daily driver.
BTW I know a guy that has a 8-second daily driver - STOCK...and we all know what "stock" means. LOL

btw, chuck, Larry has an 8'second street car that he drives to work (Sound performance) on a regular basis. as i said before, Eric takes his car on road trips and its his "reliable" car. Scranton drives his car on a regular basis as well. its MUCH different than a Twin T66 99 Cobra in a "True Street" class that only stipulates 30 miles of driving before and after race events. these are REAL street cars with REAL interior that are Driven on the REAL street. i dont know whats so hard about grasping this.
these arent solid lifter V8's w/ carbs. the lash doenst need reset every 1500 miles, we dont need to readjust the idle air misture or the secondary throttle air bleeds or metering jets. we dont need to change the springs on the advance weights inside the distributor, we dont need to reset the idle... we can set it once w/ the ECU and it STAYS that way and the car is actually Drivable. once the car is dialed in, its more or less permanent.
but, hey, you can keep the RT w/ the 46RE Tranny that is super mega reliable and bulletproof
like i said man, if you dispute the claim that Ryan woon's car was stock when he ran those times, give him a call. i would give him a call for you, but youd still raise the BS flag on that. the only possible way to get around this negativity and disbeleif is for you nay-sayers to find out first hand. now either find out and shut up... or just accept what i say since i have proof and souces.

And I have no idea why you are bringing up FFW True Street class into this argument, it baffles me. Whats to say those cars that run in that class arent street cars? Thats a class rule set for standards to make cars prove their worth as a street car for the class, nothing more. What would have them do? keep daily written records that they drive the car daily on the street?
Dont know this whole argument with carbs either. They are lots of ppl that run stand alones in many other cars and are street driven machines. Using carbs vs EFI is personal choice among the builder. Most ppl run carbs run purpose built track cars.
You seem to be bashing on ppl that go their own way and build their cars for what they want in an effort to defend the supra as a 8 second street car.
Supras are nice cars, with a lot of horse power potenial. No need to bash on other cars to justify yours.
actually, the 8 second cars are driven and raced on a regular basis and have completely stock rear ends and dont snap axles. ive never heard one single complaint about blowing a rear end or snapping an axle... however, there are plenty other solid axle and other IRS cars out there that arent as fortunate.
im not bashing cars, im pointing out weaknesses. i invite anyone to "bash" the supra and bring the weaknesses to light, for the sake of argument and to better the conversation.
i brought up the TS class because they are probably the loosest example of a "Street" legal car that can be given. and everyone is calling BS on my claim that the supras i have mentioned, when in fact these cars are FULL weight w/ full leather/suede, stereo system including subs and amps, all power equipment, AC and power steering, the full 9-yards. everyone wants to call BS when i bring up these points, or they say that its not that big of a deal and other cars can do similar times or numbers... yet every time i turn around, people are still making a huge deal out of beating a Supra. CONGRATULATIONS! guess what, you just beat a 10 year old car! if the supra isnt all that its made out to be, why does everyone get so ecstatic when they take one down.
ive already successfully defended the supra as a bone stock street car and its performance capabilities and ive defended the supra as a car with massive performance potential when modified. but when people still cant grasp the concept of what im laying down, i have to condescend and break it down in a manner they can understand. people call bullshit on facts that i present, i give credible sources and contact information for first-hand verification.
if people choose to be ignorant, than so be it. i will treat them accordingly.

I don't see anyone bashing Supras here. The only "bashing" is the exageration of calling an 8-second car - any 8-second car a "daily driver."

And what tranny do these daily driver 8 sec supra`s use.
I also suppose they are running pump gas in these 8sec daily drivers.
The MKIV supra (MK1-III suck) is a great car.
But for everything it can do well a EVO can do and more.
Let me see a supra go off road.
