Default 134A is going away?

@ my work the other day we had a small AC class...and I was told that 134A is on its way out the door in the US...2 or the big plants who make the stuff have already closed...and I know that a 30lb tank was only $90.00 about 2 months ago....now we sell it for $400.00.

Just some thing people might want to know b4 summer gets here....

Just in time for summer, I know a lot of the repair shops are looking to buy all they can. And its getting real hard to come by, Chrysler will only sell us like 10 a month. We are selling it a $20 lb now. Can't wait to see what it is by the end of summer.

If I'm not mistaken, if you use R12, you -HAVE- to go get it done at a shop... it's illegal to just sell it and do it yourself.

But yeah, I wonder what the replacement is as well.... and to think.. I converted my car to it too.. WHY!? For what!?

R134 is not going away, just hard to come by. Same thing happened a few years back with coolant, one of the two factories burned down and the price doubled overnight.
