I was wondering if any people on here had illegal tint and whether they had problems with the popo because of it. I always thought that they only harassased you about mirror tint and if you had the front window tinted but want to be sure. I am looking into limo tint for my explorer but don't want to get any shit for it. I figure if I ever do get pulled over I'll just roll down the front windows and if he asks me to bring them up I'll tell him they are just broke Not sure what they can do about that. Anyways give me your experience with illegal tint.

 

If you're explorer looks stock and you don't frequent neighborhoods known for drug activity, you should be fine. You may laugh, but my only two tint tickets came in Tarpon Springs cutting across MLK from Alt 19 to US 19
If you go out to street race hangouts or anyplace else that cops look for an excuse to stop people, you may have problems too. I've never been stopped just minding my business driving down the road in regular parts of town

 

Well I don't go to the races but if I was around where I knew cops might be I'd probably just put the windows all the way down. You can have the rear as dark as you want right?

 

Supposedly, but the guy that does my tint was saying something about the law changing the last time I spoke to him. I put the windows down too in other cars I have had, but I figure the cops will just think I'm old with sensitive eyes when I drive the Buick

If the law changes you are always good if you got it before it changed, so I should be fine.

You'll be cool with cops for the most part as long as you aren't cruising the hood or looking suspicious.

 

I have 15% all around (considered illegal) and i drive a slammed civic on black wheels.. (something a cop would easily notice) And i havent been pulled over yet (thank god)

Like everyone else said, unless you are doing something stupid, i doubt they will give u any shit for it.
