Default Clear Coat Problem

So last week when I washed my car I noticed this area just behind the passenger door that was collecting bubbles as I was rinsing the car. Upon further inspection, it appears that my clear coat is flaking off. The area is about as long as my pinky finger (I'll pause a moment to let everyone look at their pinky finger). The car is my 01 Civic.

So now what should I do? If I take it to a body shop, should I just have the general area recoated or should I get the entire car recoated? Where would be a good place to take it to (preferably close to West Shore area)? I hear Salemi's does a good job, any comments?

Thanks!

Car has never been painted, still factory paint. It looks like there is a small area adjacent to the flaking area that may begin to flake soon. Argh!

No "recoating" it, must strip and repaint that panel at least.

that car looks fairly new,idk why it would start peeling already.but yeah,do what he said, atleast repaint that panel.could be possible that the previous owner had work done on that section, but if youre the original owner idk what to tell you.

all they need to do is scuff up the area where it's flaking and it's a piece of cake to blend.

hell, even if you had pearl in your clear it would be simple to blend it. you don't need an entire clear job because even the cheapest clear will blend in with the other.

No point in chasing dents around on a daily driver. you really wanna pay (Waste, IMO) $300+? you are going to park in the Publix parking lot and get a door ding next week!
