i understand that it has been done and can be done.... but not with an evo. a friend of mine took his to Bushur to get it tune w/ AEM and alcohol and made 405 whp and 430 torque. not even 1 week later, a rod shot through the block for no reason whatsoever. jerry was driving the car at the time that it happened and has no idea what went wrong. there was no knock, no detonation, 11.5 a/f and the motor still went bye bye. this was on the stock turbo as well.

im going to try to run these numbers on my AWD when i get it running but i dont expect it to last very long...... i have a 2.3 motor that im building on the side so when it does go boom, ill be ready for it.

 

Then how come people are running low 11's on stock bottom ends and have been since they have owned the car? Hell look like ddyno's car, hes been putting down over 550whp for over a year easily.

 

this evo has the worst daily driveability. it sucks for driving around town. read about it in sport compact car ( it was in the ultimate sport car challenge ) it didnt even win. it does have lots of custom parts, but u would have to spend alot to get the driveability back

 

maybe its just the way you tune the car that helps it stay together. im going to be using a completely stock 7 bolt w/an SC61 setup and alky and maybe some 264s. hopefully, i can be one of the lucky ones that is able to do this.

 

Buschur used to be cool, but now he's a tool. I wouldn't be surprised if it was something he did. Either that, or it was a Friday afternoon kind of engine from the get-go.

 

funny thing about it was that the car only has 3800 miles on it. we dont know what went wrong and we still havent figured it out but it does suck that it happened.

im not doubting these 4G63 one bit, or i wouldnt be trying to do it myself on a stock 7 bolt with just 264 cams. i want to run low/mid 11s on my setup and hopefully have it last to get me home.
