My 930 avoided this kind of problem by not having any head gaskets.

Dont highjack threads! ....read the NOOB forum b4 posting!

I have white smoke every once and a while....is this because when the thermo opens to let coolant in, it then burns it? At idle it doesn't smoke sometimes....

I think i overheated b/c i had to take out my radiator fan to fit the filter for the turbo....today i routed the radiator fan wiring to the a/c fan. Works great. So hopefully i wont overheat anymore.....

GAWD HEADGASKETS SUCK TO REPLACE!

sucks for you, at least you didn't bend a rod while poping a hg. Its not that bad. Takes me about 30mins on a sohc. You probably have alot more to take off though?
