Well I like both trucks, the frontier is prety nice, and the tacoma is awesome. but almost 30k as well for the tacoma.

I've always favored regular cab trucks, and with one, a console shifter wastes space where there isn't much to spare. When it comes to cars though, I agree with you that a full console improves the cockpit. I'd probably go for a Tacoma in the mid-size truck market myself. The best thing that you can do is drive them all, which you are doing.

In a couple of months they will have used ones for sale pretty cheap. I don't know what kind of time frame you are looking at, so that may not be a good option for you.

Frontier or Tacoma will be at least 3k cheaper with tons more power 245+265hp offered from there V6's now
