If you are looking at Elantra's look for the XD-2 Models produced from 2001 - now, they have proven to be a good value and have gotten great ratings from edmunds, consumer reports and several major publications. I love mine and have had no problems.

Hyundai is honestly making a good car now- they have a new car coming out with more room that a 760 BWM and 265hp. Once any car get up in mileage they all have problem, as in regular maintance. If its been beat, keep looking.

BLAH BLAH BLAH.... ask yourself why do they offer such a long warranty, because they have to give you some incentive to buy it. you wouldn't waste your money otherwise.

bottom line, if your looking for reliability, look on the street. what cars do you see the most of? your looking for cars made from 85-98, that will give you cars that are old enough to be put through the ringer but still young enough that they aren's collectors items..... what brands do you see? do you see a bunch of ford cars? how many kia's, daewoo's, chevy, nissan,? what you see is a ton of hatchback and coupe civics, , preludes, accords, integras. basically you see honda around every corner. want reliable, want a car that will still get 38mpg highway after 17yrs of road time? get a honda.

okay, i'm kidding... kinda. all i can say is you gotta start building your reputation somewhere. i'd put money on you having negative experience with the company you're so confidently bashing. worthless!
