some pic's of my engine build
nice car,
i've alreay have the started wrapped. i don't drive to tampa for work. the car club i'm in meets in largo just about every weekend. i've got a 3.70 gear and 25.5 inch tall tires. 3000r's at 60mph
my next set of tires will be 26.5 inches tall so around 28-2900r's at 60.
i've got a overdrive/lockup 727 trans that i'll be putting in down the line. it should drop it 300-400 r's when the converter is locked up. then i could use a 3.90 or 4.11's
with the gears, tires and 6200 readline my top speed is 122mph. i hope to trap around 116-118mph

no, amc made there own motors. 4.170 bore and 3.680 stroke. all 401 and 390's came stock with forged rods and crank. amc blocks are really hard too. the distributor is in the front, it sets into the timming cover. the timming cover isn't on so you can't see where the distributor goes. i just put amc sb short for amc small block.
the line is for extra oiling for the rear mains. you only need it for a amc block when your running the r's over 7,000r's. the stock rods and crank are good up to 7500r's. talked to a guy that's been running them to 7,800 on his drag car for years. if you get the rods and crank nitrided, then there good for 8500+r's. not bad for a stock crank and rods.
the hoses on the intake are for rear head cooling. keeps the water moving and should stop hotspots at the back of the heads. helps to keep the motor temps down too. i was told it adds a few hp too. but i did it for the exrta cooling and to keep the head temps even.

The best engine in the world is the vagina, it takes any size piston, its self lubricating, starts with 1 finger, and every 4 weeks does its own oil change. It's just a pity the management system is so fucking temperamental.
i need them, i'm running N/A with a 3400lbs car. i have to be able to keep up with the 4 bangers with turbos and spray
but your right, if i added a supercharger or a turbo what would i do with 800-900hp
