Thumbs up Got my 383 block back from Nelson Bros!

Picked my block up Friday from Nelson Bros. All the machine work looks very good and they were extremely fair on the price! All good news about the block too, it pressure tested fine and took .030" over without a problem. Now I'm just waiting for Gearhead to get my rotating assembly in so I can start to assemble the bottom end. I'm going with an externally balanced 3.75" stroke Eagle crank, 5.7" Eagle i-beam rods, and Keith Black 10:5:1 4.030" pistons. This old 4 bolt 350 never had it so good!

Corey, you're an asshole!

Cost me $525 and change for a pressure test, hot tank, .030" bore, deck, cam bearings, freeze plugs, fresh caps and notching to clear the stroker crank.

I'm going to run a set of Trick Flow 23 degree 2.02/1.60 aluminum heads and a Comp CS 304H-R10 244/244 .600/.600 roller cam with some 1.5 roller rockers. Should give me peak horse around 6500rpm on that engine and idle like dog shit. Nothing is cooler than a barely idling V8.

Oh, the cranks are cheap. I'm picking up the whole rotating assembly, which is crank, rods, pistons, rings, and bearings, for $650 at Gearhead. Those guys have seriously killer prices.

Thats super cheap for KB pistons and an eagle reciprocating assembly.

I almost want to call bullshit on that but perhaps you are getting some kind of 'special' deal.

I wish I knew why Gearhead kept giving me such cheap prices. Maybe they think I'm a wholesaler? Fuck, I'm not complaining!
