I have beaten many and many have beat me. This is like beating a dead horse.

 

I believe that any '03-04 cobras you have beaten are because you are better driver, that is more familiar with his car, than they were. Have you ever beaten a stock Z06? If you have, does that mean that a stock Z06 is incapable of running much faster than 12.8 with a good driver?


BTW, Doc's current project is similar in mods to yours and weighs more too. It is not dialed in yet, and he may even be a good driver . . . . for an ol'fart.

 

The Z06 is capable of high 11's in stock form and will easily handle a stock 03/04 Cobra. Even with a great launch the Z06 will catch me by the 1000ft mark. I have raced BoostinSER in his Z06 at sunshine and he has DR's also and drives really well also. He gets me right at the finish line. But if you want to believe that all the guys with 03+ cobras that race me can't drive thats ok.

 

It's okay, all the ones I've raced can't drive either.

 

Here is PhantomX's car from need2speed. He finally got this car into the high 11's / 11.996 I believe is was.

I posted this here somewhere else, it was depressing.

Car: $35,000 (A-plan + rebates like a mofo then slapped with much upside downage from the POS Dodge = break even )
Mods: $4000 (all mods speed and otherwise)

Total: $39000

More to come of course, as stated by my fellow Cobra brethren it won't end there


$4000.00 worth of mods onto a stock cobra to get there and this guy drives pretty well. Take the 4000 away and I would win this race.

 

Of course weight makes a difference.You still seem to be missing the point. Your setup and the Cobra's are not the same. Remember we're talking 8 cylinders vs 4 cylinders here, not 2400 lbs vs 3800 lbs. Drop a V8 in an identical car as yours (or a 240Z ) and see if you can still hang.

Not too long ago, I had a '64 Falcon with a carbed 302, stock 3 speed tranny but it was stripped and weighed in little more than your car does. It cranked out a whole 320 hp. It ran low 12's like clockwork. Torque 'r' us.
