Question Question on a DIY intercooler sprayer.

Question for you DIY intercooler sprayer guys. (If there are any of you out there.) I’m toying with the idea of installing a DIY intercooler sprayer. I noticed that if the spray nozzles are below the water level of the tank, the tank would drain till it was even with the nozzles, and if the nozzles are below the tank, the tank would drain all the way. Is there a way to avoid this besides installing the tank below the spray nozzle level?
Thanks,

Via the use of a pressure restrictor. It will hold back a couple PSI which will keep the system from gravity draining but allow flow when forced by the pump.

Damn, it took me forever to find this for you so concider this information your christmas gift from me.

http://www.poweraire.com/checkvalve/checkvalve2.htm

A one psi cracking (opening) pressure will support about 27 inches of water head pressure, so as long as your tank is not that much higher than the sprayers one of these will keep your system from bleeding when the pump isn't running.

Thanks a million. A Christmas gift that I really can use for a change.
Thanks again for taking the time to locate the pressure restrictor. The part is $3.00, GREAT price, watch S&H be $10.00
Thanks again.......
Enjoy your holiday.....

I got all of the parts to do this at the garden and aquarium sections at Wal-Mart. I still haven't finished, I have the tubing run but I'm figuring out what I want to do for the wiring. I bought a one-way aquarium check valve which is supposed to restrict flow enough to keep it from gravity feeding. It was only 2-3 bucks. I won't know how it works until I get around to setting the system up.

That's pretty much what I've read, but on the flip side, it's nearly free. I figure it's worth a shot on my stock sidemount, which might actually get hot enough to get some heat carried off it before the beads of water/ alcohol get blown off. On the front mount, I may not bother.

I did wonder about the track issue. Do you think a fine mist on the IC could leave enough residue behind to be dangerous on the last half of the track? I was planning on pushing the button to turn it on shifting into third so it would be working through third and fourth, I was worried about that very problem at low speed, leaving water behind.

Would it be unsafe for others to spray it when already travelling at 60+ mph? I think it would just disperse, but if any of you high hp slick tired rwd guys would have a problem with something like that, please chime in so I don't cause a problem.
