cold air intake good or great

for anyone who has installed cold air intake in their car, did this increase your cars' performance greatly or just a little.

even when buying a AEM cold air intake with my eclipse i really didnt feel a big diff in performance ya i felt that "swoosh" sound when i shifted, but im sure there is HP gained just not noticable.
