Congrats Tony. I drive by Dave White's almost daily and takes a great deal of willpower not to simply pull up there, toss my current job aside, and beg for work. Looks like you'll be having a blast. Bastard.

I almost forgot to add the update that I had another chance to enjoy some more quality time with Dave this morning and discuss our mutual interests and futures.
It appears that Dave has outgrown his current operation and needs to expand to the warehouse next door and improve upon his operation.
He needs another good engine and tranny guy to help him reorganize and expand that part of his operation.
A good chunk of his business is maintaining people's racecars and a lot of that work is engine and tranny work. Race car motors are torn down and inspected about every 25 hours of operation so thats one of the reasons why there is much engine work to be done at Dave's.
I am happy to announce that he has selected me for that position.
Next week we will discuss money and benefits but as long as Dave can do better than EL its pretty likely that I will accept his offer.
Talk about being a kid in a candy store.

Cool - wanna replace my valve guides? Is it worth it adding 964 or GE80 cams with the head's off?

Yeah, if the heads are coming off thats the time to change the cams.
With the exception of the new cams and getting your rockers refaced its not going to add much on the labor side since you will be tearing down and rebuilding the top end anyways.
Florida is not an emissions testing state after all, and by the time they ever do I am sure our cars will be old enough to get by on the grandfather clause.
