ive been real happy with my husky tools, which are slowly replacing my craftsman tools, you can get a300 piece tool set for about 300 bucks with a lifetime warranty, and there is a home depot on every corner these days. here is a pic of two 9/16 wrenches, notice how much longer the husky is. much much more leverage.

ps like my shoes?

Not to mention to variety of other brands like vice-grip and no name harbor freight shit.

I buy what I need to get by with and if I have the money to spend I like to buy the good stuff.
thats pretty much what i do, buy whatever works the best for the job.

ive had one set of autozone great neck sockets i bought about 5 or six years ago under the premise of "well, they are shit, but when i break one ill buy something better to replce it, or ill buy a nice set down the road"
5 years later, i havent broken a single socket, and havent had a problem...but i dont use them often either.

The Snap On prices are crazy. Many times not worth it. But there are a few things that are very worth it. Like the ratchets. Thier ratcheting screw drivers are great too.

One thing to look for in the ratchet is how fine the mechanism is. If you get a fine one with alot of teeth in the ratchet mechanism...it will help you out in tough and tight spots.

If you dont notice the difference between a good Snap On ratchet VS a mediocre Craftsmen...then you just dont have enough experiance with tools

The new Gear Wrenches are awesome too.

these ratchets are the best IMO. I would be lost without it.
