Default Anyone here go to Tires Plus? Well dont they suck...

Well last weekend I did my tie rod ends, and upper and lower ball joints on my explorer and I went to get my truck aligned

I took it to tires plus since it was cheap $40

well they messed it up. The truck turns perfectly straight when I turn the steering wheel to the right a bit. So I rotated my tires from the back to the front and visa vera, same thing.

I took it back the next day, they hooked it up to the computer and talked me into how it was dead on and it has to be my tires.

So now I am pissed, I KNOW it is the alignment, what else could it be? I even let a neighbor test drive it who is fairly good with cars and he agrees with me. The truck drives dead strait when turned to the right

So what should I do now? If i complain again they will just pull up that damn computer

The computer only tells them if the tires are properly aligned, not if they are aligned with the steering wheel.

What they need to do is properly adjust the left and right ball joint to make the wheel straight when driving straight.

Raise hell till they do. Its not a computer alignment thing, its a drive it, adust it, drive it, repeat till correct thing.

Already cross rotated, does the same thing

Tire pressure is fine checked taht too

If I turn the steering wheel straight, the car goes to the left.

If I turn the steering wheel right a bit, the wheel goes dead straight, even when I let go of the wheel itll go straight

This is why I know it is the alignment

OHP90, they never even test drove it when I got there not did they when I left. The second time I went in they started talking all this computer green box red box crap to me and said it was fine

Im going to see if another tires plus will take care of it for free. If not I am going to call BBB and file a complaint on how much they suck, then go in and raise hell with my pops cuz this is bullshit.

the car pulling to either sides is more than just "toe"
Like you have mentioned it can be a tire pull, but does your truck have caster adjustment?Cause some bad caster will make the car pull bad,no matter how centered the wheels are..

Also when you changed the tie rod ends, did youjamaican
ut the new ones on about the same estimated turns?

EX) like if you took the left tie rod off and it was 20 turns, put the new one on @ 20 turns..

Maybe the frame has damage?Theres alot of things to look at than just my steering wheel is not straight.did you get a computer read out? if so I want to see a copyt..

jesus christ, how about not being such a crybaby and just going back, or going to a different store.
are you scared of the people there?

just go back, and get it fixed, and when it is fixed, tip the mechanic, since they dont get paid shit to sort out every suspension angle you fucked up be replacing the front end parts.

also, you went there because it was "cheap". guess you get what you pay for eh?

did they align it with the {hunter 3d} or the bean , eather or are pretty good machines and if anything it was a user error , I have worked with all the machines that all the local shops use and they give you a print out of everything , camber and caster are your main problem and alot of shops including tires plus have homo's running the machine getting paid 5 bux to do it and they dont care to get into it for the money so they can fudge the report and make you eat it , I know tires plus does this I quit because I turned the manager for being in on it and pocketing the money , I still am friends with alot of ppl that work there so if you are down I can go with you and MAKE them do it right..

how does your car drive if you just take your hand off the wheel and are on top of the crest in the road.
