i would just like to point out to the people who thought the PT cruiser was loud...it had nothing on the jet car at the PRO show, or the jet trucks at snowbird.

the one at the pro show made them shut down the road behind the track while he was running...and the concusion blasts would have been felt all the way down the track it did like 4.5@303 i think.

Lets see you are wrong. there are 8 sec supras, there is a low 8 sec 2g eclipse, a high 8 sec 1g awd, in orlando there is the 9 sec 1g that the owner drives daily, jerrys 10 sec mirage. there are plenty of fast imports.

You're listing the cream of the crop, the small number that go above and beyond and make more with less. Most imports are slow- 13's, 14's, or slower. Fast domestics outnumber fast imports 10:1, maybe 20:1.

Few of my friends ran their Z. Fastest out of all them was Harry's TT 300zx. It ran a 12 flat and could have hit 11's. =-)

I was hoping for a larger turnout for the swap meet. I only saw 2 guys selling stuff there. Oh well, it was still fun to hang out with my little brother and watch some racing. I don't think I've seen that many F-bodies racing at one time since my last Super Chevy show though!

The only import that caught my eye was that low 12 second 300ZX-TT. The rest were not very impressive. The only other 4-bangers that I remember putting up good numbers were that gray talon, and the yellow SRT-4.

We left just as bigbadbuick was buying some race gas. I really wanted to see that thing go down the track. (I love the pic in his signature) Hopefully, my brother and I will get his car put together this fall and get a chance to meet up with some of you guys.

the blue one ran low 14s and the black one ran high 14s.

the yellow one ran consistant low 12s and backed up its 11 sec runs from 2 weeks ago before the day was over. We had a few issues that kept the car from running well but for the heat/humidity we couldnt have asked for more. From the start the car kept having issues getting into second gear so there were a few aborted passes. I traced that down to a shifter bushing on the the tranny fork, simple fix. I'll have the video footage up soon

slips:

1.950
5.295
7.845
95.83
10.082
11.961
117.00

1.808
5.099
7.700
97.02
10.000
11.931
115.63

still need to do some more tuning and tweaking but for a stock long block, tranny (open-diff!) and axles the car is doing just fine. The stock clutch gave out last week and was replaced by a higher capacity unit, im impressed the stocker took my many 12 sec runs, 45k miles of daily abuse by my friend and countless dyno runs. its just another neon..
