I kinda see it failing. Sorry when you say toyota now, all that comes to mind is "commuter car" I only see diehard supra fans buying them, even then I think most will be a little leary about trading their car in for a another cars thats twice the price.

turbo/SC V8 would be great.. but i am positive they will put it in a shell that is as gay as can be... and price it way outside the range of anyone who actually cares and would buy the car in large numbers.
Things like the WRX/SRT4/Cobra are very popular because they were pricedwithin range of their intended audience.
for 50K there is no way i'd waste my money on a MkV Supra, so much better cars available in that price range.
If they want to sell tons of em.. price it right down with the Cobra.. make something comparible.. 30-40k .. 400 HP .. RWD .. LOTS of potential.. its a winning forumula.

You guys are thinking of the GT. The GT is purposefully out of (y)our price range for a few years. Theres still the regular, and who knows, maybe they wont fuck it up by ruining the tradtion since 1979 of inline 6ers. Its possible they'll use the 2JZ again, since they still do make them for IS300s
