It has been confirmed, MKV supra on the way
MY opinion (scroll down if you must) is that this wont be a Supra...worthy of the name? Yes. Really a Supra? No. More than likely a cousin. Mk4 = perfection...and well you cant go farther than perfection. I think the best looking vehicle ever made is a Mk4 with a bomex front, nothing else. That is perfect in my eyes. Not only asthetics, but performance as well: this engine was by far the most commonly said engine in the "what would be your perfect dream car" thread, despite difficulty of making it work. I think Toyota is going the wrong way by replacing the 2JZ with bigger 6 bangers arranged wrongly that even with VVTi and 2 major changes have trouble competing with an N/A Inline 6 circa 93 that has only undergone one major change. Will the V8 be indestructable and hella modable? Of course, Toyotas V8s have shown that (i-Force, 4.3 Lexus V8 )...
However 25psi put it well: twin turbo V8 seems more practical than 2 turbo'd inline motor. Since we pretty much are guarenteed it'll have boost and it'll carry the "GT" genre, I'd bet it'll have at least 1 turbo over a form of S/C. Hell maybe if we are BEYOND lucky, the regular (cheaper, non GT model) will have a 2JZ, since they still do manufacture them. Chances are...sadly...it'll be the dumbass Camry V6 though.
I'll leave Kirk to update this, because you guys trust him more anyways.

. I like the look of a Supra with TRD body parts only... a TRD widebody supra is the true sign of perfection in my eyes (anyone elses opinion may be different
) Not only is the Bomex too flimsy.. but IMO its way too busy to be on a Supra. Took me actually owning the kit to learn to hate it. I still got love for the Bomex wing though
ya, it's a little much

I am gonna Agree with Kirk on this one, cuz that supra is hot and personally have not seen one even come close to looking as good. so I definatly dont think that the new models will change too much from the mkIV's design
I mean yes this concept pic here does look nice, but i just dont see it happening at all
whoever is designing this next generation has got to be insane cuz it will be hard to top the former design

Bomex has the best look IMO, but I've never heard of it being flimsy although I know they are bastards to work with...everyone on SF has a problem with them (even a sticky) so I'd try to get a replica made of polyurethane or whatever that flexible stuff is that ricers with money/true show cars use nowadays.
I know Elliott has the bomex front, dont know for how long but last time I saw his car it was okay (but not colorwise...obvious whats wrong there
dumb body shop)The only other minor problem I have with it is that it was in the Gay and Bicurious. But thats not enough to sway me.
Only wing that fits well on Mk4s (again, IMO) is the stocker. The fiberglass type look weird and dont fit the body, and the F1/titanium/cf/whatever wings make it look like its wingless with some add on...wings like that only look good on Mk3s.
Which has everything to do with the MkV

Toyota and Lexus have almost always been very secretive of their cars in development and the only pics of them usually only come out about 6 months in advance of when they debut.
I didn't even know what the Lexus RX330 looked like until two months before it came out, and I was the damn inventory manager. The GX470 was almost the same way, except they had one for us to all look and touch at a Lexus Ride & Drive.
If they were to release the Supra, it would most likely be on the same chassis as the Lexus SC430 (this would explain the V

The next Supra will in fact NOT have an inline 6 engine. Toyota will be replacing all inlines for V-formation engines when each model's redesign come up (as of March 23rd, 2004).
If the next Supra is not on the current SC chassis, expect it to probably be based on the Toyota FXS concept car chassis and to also expect the SC to follow shortly afterwards.

Secondly, Elliot is not an example of a supra owner, hes a ricer who got lucky to have a supra..... if we are talking about the same elliot with the flaky ass paint... what a disgrace. He came out to the last meet with..........ONE side skirt.....and 10 different colors all over his car.

You can tell if it's a prototype by the driver's door jam. There will be a light colored stamp metal riveted to the B-pillar or door edge with "Px" on it (where x is the number of the prototype).
