Here is a screen capture of my prototype virtual gauge.

While its pretty easy to interpret the green dot is the max value indicator and there are seperate audible alerts for amber and red limits in addition to the white graphics of the gauge chaging color to stand out.

I bought a nice 14" flat screen for $175, acquired a 300MHz low profile computer for free and have sunk about 10 hours into the coding to produce a virtual gauge. I will need to get a power inverter for the PC but the flat screen can operate directly off of 12V. I still need to purchase the kit for the WBO2 data collector but I have engine parts I need to spend money on first.

I still need to work a few more hours on the code to cluster several of the gauges on the screen and allow gauge editing via context menus.

Right now I am planning to monitor WB02, RPM, manifold pressure, EGT/TIT, CHT1 and CHT2. I would also like to add a additional tick counter to monitor speed.

I have some long term goals to build some additional systems for limited engine management like launch rev limiter and methanol injection.

For now I just want some good analysis tools to road dyno with, tune my AIC, and keep an eye on things.
