pretty cool datalogging setup
Worry about???
I see it as more insight into what is happening. There is always cost to consider...but its an irrefutable fact that the more you know...the better off you are when it comes to tuning.

I will stick with tuning on a weighted dyno.

Wow, that datalogging setup is very impressive. Do they make a four cylinder version?
Right now I only have one spare input into my ECU, so I can set it up to log a MAP sensor, or a Wideband o2, or an EGT, or fuel pressure, but not all of them at once
. Somebody has marketed a device that allows you to log 8 extra inputs with a traditional DSM datalogger for about 250, but nothing as cool as that setup.
8 egt probes, a wideband o2, fuel and bottle pressure, MAP sensor, man, you have everything.

And more knowledge...less knowledge...in the wrong hands I dont think it matters. Kind of like trying to hide from a blind man with a gun?

This sounds like a good product but you can also get many of the same features for less with the following product.

Tony.. saw that one too. Pretty cool. Especally since they offer kits. The one I posted is more $$ but has a few different things that may appeal to some.
I am mostly concerned with the Red Alert EGT setup though. I just bought one off Ebay brand new for $765. Its hard to find somethng that will datalog EGTs for less than $1500...since it usually comes as a larger data logging package with tons of stuff i wont need. Like linear travel transducers for suspenion and serious stuf like that. I just want to get the most out of my motor whie pushing it HARD...lol.
Its good to see all this new stuff out there.

Nice setup, I got rid of my EGT sensor (little stand alone unit, no logging capabilities). Only thing I could do is capture the peak temp and when going through the traps, when you let off it could go instantly lean for a sec sending the readings through the roof. GOing to be picking up a datalogging tool to compare RPMS to driveshaft speed to determine converter slippage shortly...
Let me know how it works out man, might be in the market for something in the future (if I don't spend all of my money on the new house...

Thats the reason why I am bulding my own instrumentation and datalogging package. Not only will I have up to 8 virtual gauges (and alarms, maybe more since I can set up derivative gauges like HP and Gs) on my in car flat screen but I can also record shitloads of data for later analysis at home (40 GB drive, give or take a few for some MP3s).
I also got a wireless device for it so I can download music to my car while its in the garage and pull data to my home PC. I figure I might also get lucky and find a few hotspots around town so I can browse while stuck in traffic.
