I thought we already beat this to death in the Mitsu forums, do you really think you're hurting your motor or having any serious performance degredation because of a little spike here or a little dip there?

Worry about your sustained boost levels in the gears at which you are putting the most load on the motor.

Yeah, once I get a MBC Joe P is the one I'm going to get, even though I wont have a DSM. I've heard alot of good things about them

Also I heard that a bad blow off valve could also cause boost spike, but dont quote me on that.

ive never read of a BOV causing boost spike..usually a spike will originate somwhere along the boost control system...if your boost controller has a bleeder hole try making it bigger..if it has no bleeder hole try making a small one...or try a friends B/C and see if the spike still exists..its basic trial and error

Boost spikes are caused mainly by the wastegate not being able to control the boost properly. In some cases it is the boost controller and connections. Get a quality wastegate (Tial) that is properly sized for your setup..and check for boost leaks.

You can check for boost leaks by getting a 3" or 2" (whatever turbo inlet size you have) rubber hose at homedepot, two hose clamps, and a pvc pipe cap (matching the size rubber hose) drill a 1/2" hole in the cap and get a quick connect end for an air compressor line and screw it into the hole you drilled on the cap. Connect the rubber hose with the cap all secured by hose clamps to the turbo inlet. Next, connect an air compressor to your pvc pipe cap and pressurize it at about 10-15lbs using the regulator to regulate air pressure. Listen for leaks..
