use 2000Grit paper, and wetsand the outside of the headlights using a soapy water solution. Your headlights will be crystal clear and smooth. Also, follow up by buffing the sanded surface with the plastic polish/cleaner.

all i know is i tried to use sand paper once on mine and i did not have the patience to sit there more then 5 minutes. greg comes to you to do your headlights and its amazing how different they look. it was much cheaper then buying one new headlight for my car which is $330 or something for each one
here is a pic of my headlights before i had them done. if you compare it to the picture of my car in my sig you can see the HUGE difference. they look brand new

Go to discount, or advance, or autozone and pick up a $.99 sample of Meguire's Plast-X. Should last forever.
Best I've ever used, just only use it in cool shade and you have to use alot of elbow grease.
If it doesn't work, then you're only out $.99. Then you can buy a $30 bottle of cleaner you will only use once.
But, It will work, trust me on this one.
