5.0 L rear main seal

Also make sure that there isn't a groove on the crankshaft where the seal rides. This can cause a new seal to leak just as bad as the old one. If so, they sell a rear main seal saver kit. Buy that and it should take care of the leak.

it's leaking like a mo-fo sad thing is is wasn't but we were like"while we got it out may as well pop in a new one"

Make sure you check the crank for grooves cut in it. I have did many 5.0 rear mains and 80% of them are cut up. I think you can get the repair kit at napa. Its just a stainless sleeve that slids over the end of the crank. They are a pai to get on sometimes, just take your time. I have destroyed a few of them myself.

I think that a large blob of super glue right on that mo'fo should do the trick. I usually poor a little saw-dust in there with it to keep it from happening again. I am ASC certified, trust me.
