Funny!
my reply to that would be simply you have zero proof of anything and have zero idea who i am or what i have driven. second if this statment were to even hold water you would want to talk about the model in question a 911 not a 996. i was saying that after a while they lose their daily driver luster and you relize the car is more for race than cruise. thats all so i guess i will go back to my yugos and rabbits since i have never driven anything worth a shit.

996 is the Porsche internal model designation for the model year 911 in question.
901 - first 911 - 0 in the middle trademarked by Pugeot - so changed to 911
911 to 1989 when c4 introduced
964 model designation for 911 from 1989 to 1994
993 model designation from 1995 to 1998
996 model designation from 1999 to 2004
997 model designation out next year
BTW - they are all 911's...

You want a hard porsche to drive find a 1970 with a dog leg 901 tranny or a mid 80's with a worn 915 tranny and a broken helper spring.
Funny!

In the Porsche community the 996 has been lambasted because it drives too much like a lexus. Compared to all other 911's the 996 is mushy - compared to a toyota or honda - yeah it's probably harder to push in.

What the fuck sense do most manufacture internal designations make??? Probably nothing to you but something to others.
Ford: FOX4, DEW98, SN95
Honda: EG, EK
I'll not bother listing more because the point is made.
