btw: the styling is bringing back the Original 300s from the 50s and 60s...they all had big grilles, so they brought that back after the radical departure they had with the 300M

I think saying Chrysler has the "best engines" is a bit off. Until recently with their new Hemi and SRT-4, the vast majority of their cars were grossly overweight and underpowered.
Style? IMO the SRT4 is quite possibly the ugliest little 4-door produced. It ranks right up there with the Echo. Sure its fast, but its been beat with the Chrysler ugly stick.
The Ram Rumblebee...don't even get me started on that rear "ground effects" piece hanging underneath the rear of the car at least 8-inches forward of the rear bumper.
The new Durango looks like a Caravan.
The Intrepid just looks like a generic 4-door and has absolutely no style.
Although I do like the direction they are moving with the Crossfire and the 300C, the only problem is their other vehicles are moving in the complete opposite direction. You have "revolutionary" styling with the Crossfire, yet look at the new Durango's stay puft marsmellow man styling. What gives? As my brother said, it looks more and more like a Caravan with each "restyling".
Other manufacturers such as Toyota or Ford carry similar styling cues across the entire brand spectrum, Chrysler doesn't seem to keep anything consistent.

But of course styling is subjective. What I think looks good (i.e. the xB), others think is disgusting. So I guess there is really no point in arguing over who makes the "best looking" car.

I agree, I haven't been a big chrysler/dodge fan, aside from their trucks, for quite some time, but I do like the 300C. Maybe they'll finally get it together.

because the Crown Vic/Grand Marquis have all the styling cues in the world...how can you say the Intrepid has no style...and if you think the SRT-4 is ugly, you need to take a look at the Suzuki Aerio...and in case you didnt know...right up until the Maxima got its power boost, the Intrepid R/T and 300M had the most power in the class, at 250 from their 3.5....sure, the base Intrepids are underpowered, but anything other than base has a version of the 3.5 making either 232 or 250 HP AND just as much torque...and with an exhaust system and intake from either K&N or a member on DI.net, you can easily gain 25 HP at the crank...not to mention Kenne Bell can re-do the computer...now, underpowered? I think 260 HP out of a 4.6L V8 from Ford is underpowered...especially when Acura's new TL has 270 HP from is 3.2
as for the no continuity through the line...you can thank the Daimler side for that...they need to give us Chrsyler back...since there was continuity, and just in case you havent noticed...the crosshair grille is dodge's trademark
and on quality....why do i know of someone who had 3 motors replaced UNDER WARRANTY in the first year of ownership?

Never said the Crown Vic was styling genious...I never even brought that car into the conversation. But since you mention the Vic and modifications to the Intrepid, I think the CrownVic could easily eat the Intrepid for lunch. Hmmmm...the CrownVic has pretty much the same motor (sans different heads/intake and ECU) as the GT. Just a hunch, but somehow I think the 4.6 may have a bit more potential sitting under the hood since practically all aftermarket parts for the GT are interchangeable.
I also never said Ford produced the most reliable vehicles on the road. Hell, my old Focus was in the shop more times than I can count and that was in ADDITION to the 11 or so recalls. My mom's '99 Cobra spun a bearing and received a new motor under warranty within the first year. This is the reason the car I just purchased was made outside the US. Granted I am a die hard Ford/Mustang guy at heart, but I know when to call it quits and look elsewhere when looking for a practical/reliable daily driver.

thats where we differ....i have neer had trouble with chrysler products, and we have had many...but the aftermarket is a different story...but if you have the cash...the 3.5 in the LHs are the same as in the Prowler that hennessey built up to run 11s...so there are parts, just not as many, but we werent talking modified, were we? i missed that memo...but i say watch out for Chrysler in the future....even Hot Rod Magazine said something good about the 300C...saying Mopar wins....
