Anybody watch the news lately? I was watching it this morning and i saw that honda is recalling 650,000 minivans and suvs. What the hell!!! Nobody at work knew anything about it. Fox news is calling the service center and we don't have an answer for them. So we pull up any new bulletins from honda and guess what we find, transmissions. For the past year at honda, we have been replacing trans in the v-6 accords and minivans from 1998-2001 due to torque convertor lock-up. Now guess what, the 2004 accords, 2002-2004 minivans and 2002-2004 pilots are now having trans problems. Second gear is locking up and causing wrecks. Can we say more trans, up from our 2 trans a week average right now between the five techs at our service center. Ready for the kicker? NO VECHILES MAY BE SOLD WITH A KNOWN RECALL! and the recalls don't come out till april 25. The dealership has about 50 of these cars sitting on the lot that they can't sell till we fix them, by either replacing the trans or putting oil squiters in the trans. I am really hating hondas quality control right about now. That means trans for the next year again.

You mean honda has quality problem's too, no, get out, seriously? I'm just messing with you, any car will break, but it sucks having to fix them before you can even sell them. When all the lifts are full, who's going to do the other repairs?

 

exactly, honda never had this bad of quality control before. Now every car that comes out has a big recall that affects almost all of the cars of that brand. The new civic have a faulty combo lever that will start a fire due to it shorting out. The oddities, crvs, accords, and pilots all have trans problems. The s2000 is the only car that doesn't have a problem, besides for spark plugs. We just got a shipment of accords today, 15 of them and guess what, they can't move off the lot. This ties down bays, techs, and because we aren't moving cars, our parts bidget goes down, which means less parts in stock. Our tsi are already struggling and how do you think customers are gonna like being told that the car they are driving might lock-up and crash.

LOL, as for 'do I watch the news' the answer is no. I just found out today that part of the Crosstown collapsed. It's making 2 of my coworker's drives to work take over 1 1/2 hours, wheras mine still takes 50 minutes. They sit in traffic, I cruise along at 50mph.

 

I am an active member on Acura-cl.com and the CL Type-S 5-speed automatics havew the SAME problem, so to the acura-TL type-S cars. Its Nothing new to me.
