i hate honda
This happened in my wife's 99 Odyssey, they did not have a recall then.. we complained to Honda and they would not step up.. Now we have a 99 TL but they extended the warranty on that transmission.
Honda wanted over $3000 to replace the transmission in the Odyssey..

Actually, from my readings on Acura-cl.com and Acura-tl.com... I believe the plates inside the transmissions were made by a contracted 3rd party company. These plates end up shaving off alot of metal filing inside the transmissions, clogging all the valves.

ding, we have a winner. The valves are getting clogged. The acuras and the hondas are the same trans, go figure.
JJ, how many miles on the oddity? There was a powertrain extension on the v-6 oddites and accords and it might now be covered by warrenty if it throwing a P0740 code, TQ lock up

I see people out there spending money on the car to improve it … If you spend half that effort just working on your driving skills, making you and the car work together as a team, then you’ll go faster – period. To make the car go a second faster on the track takes a lot more energy and money than making yourself drive it one second faster.

Me too. I rag (thats what its for, so not really ragging) on my car and I never had a single problem with my tranny. Oh and its the one that came with it and has 110k on it
Plus its good stock up to 450+HP.
Yea no shit, the 'Maint req' light illuminated on my 20,000 mile 2002 Honda Civic today as I was driving home. Kicker is that my service isn't even due until 22,300 miles.
Manual transmission too
Any ideas?
