Default Powder Coating?

Not "Where do you get it done?", but rather who here gets things powder coated.

I have worked for a powder manufacturer for the past 4 years and my friend and I are thinking of opening a job shop of our own.
I was just wondering how many "average" people are willing to get this done. I know alot of racers and show builders that have it done, but need to know if there is a local client base.

Thanks
Chris

I would have wheels powdercoated. But only if you can compete price-wise with the other establishments around town.

I am always interested in getting things powdercoated. The main drawbacks to me doing so is the long turnaround for most of the area shops, and of course the relatively high cost. ProCoat is an excellent shop, but turnaround is pretty slow (mostly because they have TONS of work at all times).

You may also want to look into offering thermal coatings.

If your shop hours are not rediculous I would be down for valve cover, intercooler pipes and turbine housing. Maybe even the intake manifold depending on pricing.

Thanks for the replies.
My buddy and I are looking into how much the equipment will cost right now.
Has anyone had anything coated locally?
How much are things going for (i.e. wheels, calipers, IC pipes, etc.)?

Any info is appreciated. Just trying to see if we can get this going. Im so tired of working for someone else and would rather work towards my future and not my boss'.

Again thanks in advance.
