Im not in business yet.
I have done some things here where I work now, but I cant do wheels. I got my SOHC valve cover in our oven but thats about the biggest thing that would fit in there, maybe a DOHC.

Just trying to see if there is a business to open.

Thanks
Chris

You work at a place that does powdercoating, but they can't even do a set or rims?

I work for a place that MAKES powder coating. We manufacture the powder that everyone else applies (well not EVERYONE but alot of people). I do the custom color matches when they come in.
The ovens we have here are only for testing the powder before it sent to our customers (3x5 panels and such).

Its a good job but I hate my boss with a passion.

Thanks
Chris

My buddy and I are looking into how much the equipment will cost right now.
Has anyone had anything coated locally?
How much are things going for (i.e. wheels, calipers, IC pipes, etc.)?

Any info is appreciated. Just trying to see if we can get this going. Im so tired of working for someone else and would rather work towards my future and not my boss'.

Again thanks in advance.
Chris
I paid $360 for a one-stage satin black powdercoating job on a set of 4 16x6.5" wheels. Included prep/cleaning as well.

For the same wheels, I think my father paid around $420 for a three stage powder coat job at the same place (anthricite base, metallic middle, and a clear on top).

A DOHC Honda valve cover usually runs $60.00 for one coat. That includes degreasing, blasting it to remove oxidation, wash the part to remove any chemicals from the blasting, preheating, etc.
