Laser jammers however are legal since they are controlled by the FDA and not the FCC and such.

Yup, just heard a story the other day about some HP's in the sticks using their old reliable x-band to pick people off. The likelyhood of anyone within a 50-mile radius of the city using x-band is low, but I'd still like to have the ability to detect it.

i had a Vector 940, saved me a couple times but i got rid of it cuz spending the money on my system instead was more important, the radar detector was only a lame excuse for me to speed and i needed to slow myself down anyway
