Check Engine Light Trouble...NEED HELP FAST
resetting the CEL is usually done with some type of interface software (laptop etc) but sometimes there are manual methods of doing it, like unplugging the battery for a bit. just because theres a CEL doesnt mean that there is a current problem, sometimes it just needs to be reset. you could probably go to a nissan shop and they would do it for you.
any time you open your MAF to the open air, you expose it to anything and everything floating around. theyre quite sensitive, so that couldve pissed something off.
if your car still runs fine, id have to think that the MAF isnt broken and it doesnt need to be replaced (if it was broken the car would run horribly) and replacing a MAF isnt quite the cheapest thing.

That's the thing...the light came off after I had removed the filter, and before putting it back, so there was no oil at the time. If it had turned on after installing the filter, I would agree. However, I feel like cleaning the MAF anyway...it seems like the only thing because I know the engine is fine. Since I have never cleaned it before, can you tell me a good and safe way to do it (I need no more problems)

I don't see it as a serious problem, but I want that light OFF.
go to autozone. they will read your OBD code for free. then look that code up on the internet to see what the probable cause is. if it is air related, you're probably good to go.
also, autozone will clear the code so you can see if it comes back or not
