id have to think that its completely functional. prevents sliding, and also adds downforce for much-needed traction on the ice.

 

yeah I mean you know how much you would need more downforce on the ice, actually thats a funny thing, cuz the more pressure on ice there is the more it melts (basic physics), but at the same time the hrader the rubber is on the surface the better, (basic physics) I am confused

 

look closely at the tires and it will all make sense....

 

if theyre ice racing then the ice is prolly like 4 inches + thick, and the amount of ice that will melt wont affect it as it shoudl refeeze instantly...
