I drove it today and it seemed pretty quick. It fishtailed when I put it into second. Anyways, if you know please post. Also how reliable is a rotary engine? Specifically a mazda 12a engine.

Edited for grammar, go back to fuckin 5th grade and stay for at least a few years.
Rich, Thought I would try to help you out with little information I know of them. That 12A engine puts out maybe 130-140 hp to the wheels, depending on what kind of work it has done to it, which isn't bad for a car that weighs right around 2000 lbs. I remember seeing a video online with that same engine, the kid tried to blow it up by keeping it at 9 thousand rpms. It took about 7 minutes before the wenkel (rotary) came apart. If you ask me, thats simply amazing and a regular piston engine wouldnt last half that long. If you need further info., go to a searchengine and type Wenkel engines or rotary.

Ok, first off, Rich was only correcting dipshit's grammar, he wasn't the one asking the question. Second, it's wAnkel, not wEnkel.

thanks keith, seeing the word "wenkel" "hurted" my eyes.

anyway, about rotaries, they are very temperamental, i got an 88 se with almost 200k on it. the clutch is just slipping coz of oil leaking past through the main seal and more oil leak around the oil cooler but other than that, its a fun car to drive. i like the weedwhacker sound of it

Do we really have to get into this? You could pick apart 90% of the posts on this board that state the obvious. The point of putting 'mazda' in there had nothing to do with the fact that its a rotary, but if you look in the original post, jackass just states "12a". Not everyone knows what a "12a" is. Its a 12a engine from yes, a MAZDA manufactured car, not a FORD, HONDA or CHEVY.

You may as well post "Mazda is the only make of car that has a rotary engine. Aren't I smart? I'm cool."

Dick. Nobody cares.
